Business Awards Give Local Businesses Recognition 
and Exposure at the 2008 Chamber Meddy Awards

Every September, The Chamber of Medford/Jackson County honors businesses and individuals for Business Excellence in small (1-50 employees), medium (51-150 employees) and large (over 151 employees) categories, Retailer of the Year, Member of the Year, New Member of the Year, Outstanding Corporate Citizen and First Citizen.   

The spirit of the awards is to recognize those businesses and individuals that have a history of outstanding commitment and dedication to southern Oregon.  The awards are presented at the Annual Dinner & Awards Banquet.

2008 award winners included:

• First Citizen - John Anhorn,  PremierWest Bank
• Future First Citizen Scholarship, in memory of William R. Haas - Zakary Nave, Crater High School
• New Member of the Year - Elvira Skurdal, Dri Wash-N-Guard
• Member of the Year - Kathy Peckham, Bank of the Cascades
• Business Excellence:  Small Company - Butte Creek Mill
• Business Excellence:  Medium Company - People's Bank of Commerce
• Business Excellence:  Large Company - Providence Medford Medical Center
• Retailer of the Year - Rogue Regency Inn & Suites
• Outstanding Corporate Citizen (For-Profit) - US Cellular
• Outstanding Corporate Citizen (Non-Profit) - Southern Oregon Humane Society
